Oceanside Luxury - The Four Seasons Resort Punta Mita

Few interests connect us more intensely than our collective love of the ocean, and most importantly, the memories that we have made with our friends and family throughout our days. I am no different as I grew up near the ocean, and I now make every effort to visit the beaches of the world to create new memories.

Getting There

One of the most appealing characteristics of The Four Seasons Resort Punta Mita is its close proximity – a simple direct flight to Puerto Vallarta, followed by a 45 minute sedan ride to Punta Mita – a private luxury community that stretches out from the mainland into the Pacific Ocean.

I have traveled to luxury beach resorts all over the world, and the ability to visit this property with about a half a day’s travel is quite rare – especially since this resort features one of the most dramatic and luxurious beach settings in the world. So, if you don’t have two weeks to fly to a distant location, you can take a week or less and visit The Four Seasons Resort Punta Mita and enjoy an equally spectacular ocean getaway.

Arrival

Arriving at The Four Seasons Resort Punta Mita, guests are granted entry to an expansive opening to a tropical feast for the senses – the salty air rushes through your face and hair, leading your eyes toward the palms and the glittering sea. Quite something to experience, and a most lovely way to begin your trip.

Accommodations

We enjoyed an Ocean-View Suite, which was spectacular – a spacious area, elegantly appointed, which opens impressively upon the property and its sprawling ocean views. The resort offers a wide variety of Accommodations, including sumptuous Oceanfront Villas with plunge pools, outdoor showers, and steps from the ocean.

The Beach and Pools

The Beach

The property features multiple beachfront areas, punctuated by two main beaches, each with lavish spaces to relax, swim, and luxuriate in the powdery warm white sand. Absolutely astonishing sunsets. Also be sure to take advantage of the Deep-Sea Fishing and Sea Turtle Release, so amazing!

The Main Pool

The Main Pool at The Four Seasons Resort Punta Mita offers an impossibly gorgeous way to cool down and elevate above the surface of the ocean – yet feel as if you are floating in it. Wow. And when you turn around, a floating bar meets you to satisfy your hard-earned thirst!

Tamai – The Adults-Only Pools

The resort offers a luxurious and serene getaway for adults at its Tamai adult area, which features three separate pools, each with cozy lounging and seating spaces. I could have spent an entire week at Tamai. Just glorious.

Dining

The resort features a number and variety of succulent Dining options, including its signature offering Aramara – which combination of Asian styles with local fresh seafood is beyond compare.

We also thoroughly enjoyed Bahia by Richard Sandoval, situated on the beach and chock full of fresh seafood. Incredible experience as the wind rushes across your table, shaking the flames in the torches.

Spa

We enjoyed the property’s luxuriant Spa, which also grants guests access to the spa’s interior water areas. I also enjoyed the impressive selection of treatments inspired by local culture and holistic approaches.

The Tail of the Whale

The resort offers the opportunity to Golf on two Jack Nicklaus – designed courses: the Bahia and Pacifico course. A short beach walk from the resort leads you to the Pacifico course’s world-renowned dramatic Par 3, referred to as the “Tail of the Whale” – the world’s only natural island green. Ocean water washes across the rockway to the green as the tide rises. Even if you are not a golfer, I highly recommend a walk to the hole. It’s unbelievably beautiful. Closing Thoughts

I’ve had the fortune of visiting some of the most dazzling properties in the world, and I am continuously astounded when I visit a truly singular destination such as The Four Seasons Resort Punta Mita. The resort has designed a property that remarkably frames oceanfront in a way that grants to its guests a unique opportunity to experience the ocean and the surrounding views.

So open the double doors in your Oceanview Suite, allow the sea winds to fill the space, slip on your white pants, and stroll on the silky alabaster sand. For the ocean speaks, listens, and imprints upon you the precious memories that will forever remind you of the importance of a walk on the beach.
