Parisian Luxury – The Four Seasons Hotel George V, Paris

“Paris is always a good idea.” – Audrey Hepburn

I’d slightly restate Ms. Hepburn’s quote to: “The Four Seasons Hotel George V, Paris is always a good idea.” In the City of Lights, one of the most beautiful and celebrated cities in the world, the Four Seasons Paris offers an indelible aperture to experience all the city offers in resplendent luxury.

Here is a short YouTube video showing multiple views of this majestic property, courtesy of the Four Seasons.

Location

One of my favorite characteristics of the Four Seasons Hotel George V, Paris is its location. Paris is expansive, and I love that the Hotel is perfectly positioned in the city’s Golden Triangle and the magical 8th Arrondissement on the Avenue George V, which is just a few minutes walk from the Avenue des Champs-Elysees and some of the most varied and luxurious shopping in the world. In addition, famous attractions such as Notre Dame and the Eiffel Tower are only a five-ten minute taxi ride toward the Seine.

Entry

The Four Seasons Hotel George V, Paris features the most magnificent entry I’ve experienced, and I’ve been to some of the most impressive hotels and resorts in the world. The space opens into high ceilings, and is awash in lustrous marble and a profusion of fresh and vividly colored flowers. Absolutely breathtaking.

Accommodations

The Four Seasons Hotel George V, Paris rises eight stories, offering 244 total rooms in a design and style inspired by Louis XVI – 185 Guest Rooms and 59 Suites. We enjoyed a striking wrap-around suite overlooking Avenue George V, and the surrounding area. Here is a short video of our suite.

Here is a brief video highlighting our dramatic wrap-around terrace:

Dining

When considering the many impressive characteristics of the Four Seasons Hotel George V, Paris, it’s Dining Options are without peer. The Hotel features an astounding three separate Michelin Star dining options: Le Cinq, Le George and L’Orangerie.  The three restaurants form the heart of the property, surrounding the Hotel’s intimate courtyard and Le George as seen here (image courtesy of the Four Seasons):

Here are a few images from our visit:

Le Cinq

The Hotel’s crown jewel is Le Cinq, the world-famous three Michelin star restaurant executed by the brilliant Christian Le Squer. Click Here to read about Le Cinq and the restaurant’s styles, inspirations and offerings.

The guest is enveloped in lush appointments, Regency Style wood-sculpted mirrors with gold leafing, elegant art and most importantly – world-class inventive culinary samplings, inspired by Chef Le Squer’s heritage living near the French coast. Here is a sample of some of the savory menu items: Shelled Spider Crab refreshed with a creamy coral emulsion, Dublin Bay Praws with warm mayonnaise and buckwheat pancakes, Foie Gras Like a Pebble poached in an iodized broth, Slightly Cooked Sea Bream, Roasted and Lightly Smoked Blue Lobster, Grilled Fillet or Turbot, Line-Fished Sea Bass with caviar and buttermilk “from my childhood,” Grilled and Glazed Pigeon, and Black Market Beef from Australia covered with truffled mozzarella (which is what I had, unbelievably delicate and flavorful).

Le Spa

The Four Seasons Hotel George V, Paris features a grand and plush five-star Spa, with a world class salon, treatment spaces and menu, and multiple lavish spaces for guests; all punctuated by one of the most sumptuous and dramatic indoor pools I’ve ever seen. Lined with hundreds of cubic yards of marble, art deco design features and extravagant day beds, the Spa’s main area is absolutely jaw-dropping to see and experience. I could have spent the entire stay here, just swimming and napping.

I enjoyed spending a great deal of time in Le Spa, and here are some of my images:
