Luxury Dining in Scottsdale – Dominick’s Steakhouse

“Food is our common ground – a universal experience.” – James Beard

Superlative steakhouses are something quite special. The best steakhouses transport the diner to a different time and place, delivering exhilaration, luscious flavors, laughter, community, and suffused memories.

We’re most fortunate to have one such steakhouse close to home – Dominick’s Steakhouse at the Scottsdale Quarter. Dominick’s is owned by the same group that owns and operates the highly successful and magnificent steakhouse named Steak 44 in Phoenix. I’ve visited Steak 44 many times, and you can read my Steak 44 article by Clicking Here.

Dominick’s Steakhouse is cast in a sumptuously low-lit, multi-level setting, replete with luxurious appointments, lighting, and ivory-white tablecloths. The staff is impeccably attired in ties and vests, gliding expertly through the aisles and clusters of equally well-dressed patrons.

The bar is the heart of the first floor, and frames the first floor dining space.

The restaurant’s space exudes elegance, punctuated by the second-floor’s bold and striking faux-swimming pool, as you can see in the featured image at the top. The pool is actually only a few inches deep, but it perfectly underscores the extravagance and exclusivity of the dining experience.

The Dinner Menu features exemplary chophouse fare, and there are a number of delightful and creative options such as the Chef’s “PB&J” (Pate’, Fig Jam and Woodford Reserve Bourbon), and Fried Deviled Eggs – both of which are astounding. Click Here to view the Dinner Menu and the Early Bar Menu.

On a recent visit with friends, we enjoyed a dozen Oysters, delicately and sharply served in a snow drift of crushed ice and accompanied by a lovely selection of sauces and a scrumptious Champagne Mignonette.

I’m overly predictable in terms of an entree choice, and I was true to form on this latest visit in ordering the splendid Wagyu Beef Filet (8oz). The cut is spectacular, in no small measure due to the sourcing by Dominick’s, and the fact that Wagyu Beef melts at approximately 77 Degrees Fahrenheit, so it melts when it touches your tongue, scarcely requiring any chewing – unparalleled decadence.

It was my dear friend’s birthday, and thanks so very much to Dominick’s for spoiling us with some of their signature desserts: homemade Beignets speared in an elegant tree presentation with dipping sauces, and a succulent kettle cake.

The staff, and especially our lovely server Taryn, made the night especially memorable; and in the end, steakhouses like Dominick’s are more than restaurants – they serve as the special hosts for our joyous celebrations of birthdays, anniversaries, and other gatherings that become important parts of who we are, and how we cherish those memories.

Dominick’s Steakhouse has served as a special host for many of our celebrations and evenings out, and I highly recommend that you visit Dominick’s when planning your next special event – the experience, and your memories of Wagyu and Beignets, will have you longing to return.
