Luxury at the Arch – The Four Seasons Hotel St. Louis

“And into the forest I go, to lose my mind and find my soul” – Unknown

There are few things more exhilarating than getting on a plane, and traveling to a place you’ve been thinking about visiting for some time. Not long after I started to post my travels on social media, I stumbled upon the Four Seasons Hotel St. Louis, and thought it a quite lovely property in America’s heartland, a city I’d never visited. So, I put it on my travel bucketlist, and checked on it from time to time on social media.

A few months ago, I learned that a work trip would take me to St. Louis, and I knew precisely where I was going to stay!

Location

The Four Seasons Hotel St. Louis is dramatically positioned on the West Bank of the Mississippi River, overlooking the city’s astonishing Gateway Arch. (Click Here to view a fantastic documentary of the building of the Gateway Arch.) The property is a scant 20 minutes from Lambert-St. Louis International Airport, on the east side of the city, a short drive or walk to a vibrant business and dining community.

The hotel is also part of the Lumiere Place Casino development, so you can take a short walk for some gaming and entertainment.

The Property and Accommodations

The Four Seasons Hotel St. Louis spans approximately 411,000 square feet, comprising fifteen stories in a nineteen floor building. The structure cuts a clean and breathtaking profile in the St. Louis skyline, and the design aesthetic is modern and sleek throughout.

Accommodations

The Four Seasons Hotel St. Louis features 200 rooms (186 rooms and 14 suites), with luxuriously modern appointments and furnishings, and dazzling views of the Mississippi River and the Gateway Arch. The property also surprised me with a small hot air balloon and chocolate gateway arch!!!

Spa

The Spa at the Four Seasons Hotel St. Louis comprises approximately 12,000 square feet, also designed in clean and modern lines and tones, its lobby framed by a high ceiling, and floor-to-ceiling wraparound windows. Quite lovely.

I generally refrain from capturing spa images in respect of the privacy of guests. However, for a few moments I had the Men’s side to my self, and captured this image of the resplendent Men’s Jacuzzi, which offered the perfect antidote to a long day of travel. Ahhhh.

Pool Deck and Terrace

Rarely does a property feature such an impressive and expansive pool deck and terrace, especially an elevated space such as that of the Four Seasons Hotel St. Louis. The property’s designers perfectly captured the sumptuous views of the River and the Arch. Just sublime, and the perfect place to dine, enjoy a cocktail, sun yourself, read, or just do absolutely nothing. This lovely area is the heartbeat of the property.

Dining

The Four Seasons Hotel St. Louis offers as its signature dining experience the marvelously authentic Cielo, the vision of Chef Gian Nicola Colucci, a native of Italy’s Lombardy region, specializing in Piedmontese Cuisine. Cielo is a feast for all senses as its space is expertly positioned inside the property’s main gathering area, and with additional seating outside on the hotel’s spectacular terrace.

This is one seriously awesome restaurant. Cielo locally sources Salume Beddu charcuterie • Amish chicken • American Kobe beef • Berkshire pork • La Quercia prosciutto • Fruit and vegetables from local growers • Fresh herbs from the Chefs’ Garden on property.

Some of its signture dishes are Housemade ravioli – veal, ricotta and spinach ravioli, mushroom / Parmigiano-Reggiano, truffle essence / Seared albacore tuna – eggplant caponata, saba, basil oil

Check out the Squid-Ink Infused Pasta, and the Lobster Ravioli – OMG!

Thanks so very much to everyone at Four Seasons St. Louis. I would also like to thank Jim and Chloe for making this visit possible, (to Yvette for my lovely shirt!) and for the use of some of your high resolution images!

Please take note that the hotel welcomed me as a special media guest, but that my opinions are, as always, entirely my own.

Thank you so very much for taking the time to read this article, and happy dining and traveling!
