The JW Marriott Denver, Cherry Creek – Rocky Mountain Luxury and Comfort

The world is a book, and those who do not travel read only a page” – Saint Augustine

I had the occasion recently to travel to Denver, Colorado and I’m always looking for new and different places to stay. Well, there is a lovely neighborhood to the southeast of downtown Denver called Cherry Creek.  It’s sort of a combination of stylish traditional homes and sleek new shopping and dining – a stellar and lively part of Denver that is well worth the trip.

In the heart of the neighborhood is the JW Marriott Denver, Cherry Creek, where I had the pleasure of staying for an evening during my business trip. The hotel is a AAA Four Diamond property, features over 600 artistic works by Colorado artists, and was featured on Condé Nast Traveler’s 2014 Readers’ Choice list as one of the “Best Hotels in the West.” The property also features its Antoine du Chez Salon & Spa, which in 2013 was named one of the Top 75 U.S. Hotel Spas by Condé Nast Magazine.

The hotel is a most welcome find in a neighborhood replete with stellar dining options, including inside the hotel with its restaurant Second Home Kitchen and Bar.

Here are a few images of the Entry and the Second Home Kitchen and Bar:

A quick note about the Second Home Kitchen and Bar. The name is most apt because the space truly feels comfortable and warm, like a home away from home. I know how that sounds. But it’s true. I’ve been to hundreds of high end hotels, and I really felt at home when I was in the space.  I also really loved the patio space, which you can see in that picture on the far right. You can Click Here to view the Dinner Menu.

I was very fortunate to have the patio to myself during my visit, and this picture of the firepit is one of my favorites.

I was also very fortunate to enjoy a room on the top floor.  Unfortunately I didn’t have a chance to capture a good photo of the view because it was dark, but here are a couple of photos that give you a sense for the quality of the rooms and the view:

As you can see, the accommodations are stellar – bedding, views, furniture, appointments.  I love stone, and the bathroom featured a number of different styles and types. The room was top to bottom luxury and comfort.

In all, and even though it was only a one-night stay, my experience at the JW Marriott Denver, Cherry Creek was sublime. And like all excellent properties, the staff is the real key. I enjoyed spectacular service during my time on property, and that’s usually what I recall the most.

I highly recommend that you visit the JW Marriott Denver, Cherry Creek if you are going to be in the area for work or pleasure.  And remember St. Augustine, you should always be looking for the next page to read.
