I adore the ocean. There’s something cosmic and spiritual in simply being near the water, seeing the sunlight skip off its surface, and feeling your body and spirit melt in its majesty. I’ve had the pleasure and fortune to see some of the world’s most beautiful seascapes.

But you haven’t seen all of the world’s most magnificent beaches until you’ve experienced the Four Seasons Resort Seychelles.

Location

Getting There

The Seychelles – as you can see above – is an archipelago of islands due east of central Africa in the Indian Ocean. You may reach the Seychelles by a number of routes, depending upon your location. From the US, we flew to Dubai, and enjoyed a lovely direct flight to the Seychelles.

Arrival

The main island is pure tropical bliss; encompassing a small footprint but featuring a quite dramatic elevation. This feature sets the Seychelles apart as most beach resorts are situated in low-lying areas. The Four Seasons Resort Seychelles is brilliantly positioned to maximize the short distance between the beach, and the elevated terrain, such that the suites appear to float directly above the beach. It’s absolutely exquisite and breathtaking.

Our Villa

Here is a brief video of our Hilltop Ocean-View Villa with Plunge Pool. It’s every bit the dreamy setting that it appears to be; just spectacular. The elevated positioning of the Villa truly sets this property apart – wow.

The Spa

The Four Seasons Resort Seychelles features a world class spa, which is also perched high above the beach. How about these views? The Spa also features a full list of specialized treatments using fresh local ingredients. I blissfully fell asleep during my Phubi treatment. Ahhhhhhhh.

The Beach and Pools

Once you’ve soaked in the views, it’s time to hit the beach! I’ll say without reservations that the beach at the Four Seasons Resort Seychelles is the most resplendent beach I’ve ever visited – warm, ivory powdery sand, light breezes, warm – but not hot – waters, and views for miles. This view is emblazoned forever in my resort memories, and alone worth the trip.

Dining

The Four Seasons Resort Seychelles offers a variety of dining venues – Zez, Kannel, Koi, bars, and In-Villa Dining. We adored breakfast each morning at Zez, overlooking the beach. Here are some images:

Travel reveals the world to us in special ways. We experience these new spaces and they become a part of who we are and how we see the world. The Four Seasons Resort Seychelles is a destination that I longed to visit for years, and no matter how long it takes you to visit, I can promise you that the experience will shape how you view your world – for the rest of your life. Thoughts of your elevated villa, the beach below, and the warm white soft sand will rise to the surface of your mind when someone asks you about the best beach you ever visited. That is why we travel – to have experiences that elevate our souls. And that’s why I urge you – as soon as you can – to fly to the Seychelles, open your villa’s sliding glass doors, and look upon the spectacle that you will see forever in your mind’s eye.
