Location
Getting There
The Seychelles are accessible by way of a number of routes. We flew from the U.S. to Dubai, then directly to the Seychelles, but you may also fly from Africa or Asia. Traveling to the Four Seasons Resort Seychelles at Deroches Island is a brief half-hour flight from the Seychelles International Airport, which you will book directly through the resort. And when you arrive, you’ll see that you have the entire island to yourself – just magnificent.
The Four Seasons Resort Seychelles at Deroches Island impresses from the moment the ocean breeze brushes across your face as you exit the airplane. Welcome to your island, and it’s time to see your personal oceanside villa – yes, you heard that correctly – amazing!!!!!

As you can see, the Villa is an incomparable triumph; complete with private pool cabana, luxurious appointments, and oh, a private beach. Here’s a short video of our private paradise.
Main Pool and Dining Area
You’ll spend much of your time in the dazzling main area, framed magnificently by a sleek vertical reflecting pool, followed by an impossibly elegant horizontal negative edge pool, and punctuated by the alabaster sand and clear blue ocean. It’s a mesmerizing scene, and one you’ll not soon forget.
Dining
The Four Seasons Resort Seychelles at Deroches Island features a number of fresh and flavorful Dining Options, including Claudine, The Deli, The Lighthouse, The Lighthouse Lounge, The Bar, and The Castaway Bar.
The Lighthouse is the signature dining experience on property, and one of the most captivating, stunning and memorable settings I’ve ever had dinner in the world. The Lighthouse stretches across the edge of the island’s skyline, and tables rest in the soft sand feet away from the soft surf. You’re simply taken aback while try to soak up every sensation.

Spa and Wellness
The Four Seasons Resort Seychelles at Deroches Island features a wide variety of custom-designed Spa and Wellness treatments, including the use of organically sustainable products utilizing local ingredients. In addition, and I’ve been to many of the world’s most luxurious resorts, this is my first visit to a Spa with its own private beach – serene, sublime, and breathtaking.

Exploring Deroches Island by Bicycle
Deroches Island is quite lovely, and guests are encouraged to bicycle to the interior of the island to view its natural form, and a small village filled with local inhabitants. Here are some images from our exploration:
Closing Thoughts
There are places that we experience in life that change who we are, and how we view the world – places that we think back upon, and recall how much life can be enjoyed in one moment, one snapshot of time; yet create such enduring memories that reside deep within our spirits for the rest of our days.
The Four Seasons Resort Seychelles at Deroches Island is such a place. You’ll never think of the ocean, the beach, or a sunset without thinking back to your time on the island – to a time when your world slowed to a crawl and your loved ones smiled, held your hand, and you thought about all things possible.
I urge you to make the journey to the Seychelles, walk off that plane onto your private island, breathe in the soft sea air, and fall backward into your private oceanside plunge pool. You’ll be changed for all time, and forever have that sparkle in your eye when you think back on some of the best days you’ve had on this planet.
